No quiero ser hiriente, pero presumo que todos esos juegos poseídos por menos de 10 personas, deben ser, la mayoría, bastante mediocres (ahora pueden disparar en defensa propia)

Je,je eso quiere decir que los wargames tenemos más juegos mediocres. O que son peor juegos. ¿como justificas eso? ¿cuantas personas tienen en su casa que se yo un libro de Miguel angel Asturias y cuantas uno de Corin tellado, cuantas tienen uno de Dostoievski y cuantas uno de Asimov? O estirando el ejemplo, la gente que no tiene ningún juego, ¿es mediocre?
La mía es una presunción, que admite prueba en contrario. Es más, acepto que esa presunción puede desvanecerse en los wargames, que naturalmente tienen una tirada inferior.
La segunda causal de justificación es que sea un juego nuevo.
La tercera, un juego antiguo, descontinuado, de la era pre BGG.
Pero así y todo, hay una duda razonable de la calidad con menos de 10 dueños.
Ahora, no quiere decir que el que exista en 12 mil hogares, como el Catán, sea automáticamente el mejor.
En verdad, de una cierta cantidad para arriba, cualquiera puede calificar como excelente. Algunas expansiones del AOS que tengo, son poseídos por 120 personas, y para mi son Top 10. Ahora, si una expansión de AOS ya tiene 1-2 años en el mercado, y solo 5 personas a tienen...ya empiezo a sospechar.
No sé, es una manera de razonar. Pero desde luego yo nunca utilizo la estadistica para saber o intentar saber si un juego merece la pena o no. En mi caso es una especie de suma de prejuicios, intuiciones, consejos y suerte, sí, el azar, que tampoco te gusta.
Yo pienso que puede ser una tendencia pero con mucha desviación. Es decir, si tengo que apostar que juego es mejor o peor con solo saber el numero de personas que lo tienen, apostaré por el que mas lo tengan (a igualdad de tiempo y tirada). Pero como todo hay excepciones, Ekonos es un juegazo y no lo tiene mucha gente... Y monopoly lo tiene mucha gente pero...
Vamos que es como si me dicen, quien tiene que tener mas dinero o mas probabilidades de tener carrera universitaria Ciudadano X Raventós, o Ciudadano X López, apostaría por el primero por estadística, pero lógicamente habría numerosas excepciones y no me jugaría ni un duro.
Lo de la cantidad de personas que tengan un juego creo que tiene que ver con las posibilidades de distribución de su editor, más que con la calidad. Por ejemplo, un Kosmos o un Fantasy Flight Games que lo tengan 12 personas en BGG sí se puede pensar que es malo, pero un juego de una editorial pequeña que lo tenga sólo una persona (la novia del diseñador) no necesariamente es malo.
En síntesis, creo que el silogismo es erróneo. No existe nexo de causalidad entre la premisa y la conclusión, al menos no como imperativo categórico.
Por ejemplo, de los juegos que tengo con diez o menos usuarios:
- Eurojuego de Salamanca: es el mejor juego de estilo Monopoly que he jugado. Introduce la necesidad de conseguir contratos eléctricos y de agua para poder construir viviendas. Valoración: Aceptable. Sólo fue distribuido en Salamanca por un periódico local.
- Petrodólares: otro juego estilo Monopoly, quizás con el que pasé más tiempo en mi infancia, después del Carcachilandia, que no aparece en BGG y no lo encuentro para meterlo en la base de datos. También tiene ciertos retoques que lo hacen mejor que el Monopoly, como una repartición previa de propiedades. Valoración: Mediocre, aunque con dolor en el corazón por la nostalgia. Eso sí, supera al Monopoly.
- Viaje por Europa: este juega en otra liga, pues es un juego educativo para niños, el cual busca enseñar sobre geografía, medios de transporte, así como sobre los principales hitos europeos. Supongo que al ser sumamente gustado por su público meta (los niños) y al lograr con creces su objetivo de enseñanza, se debería calificar el juego de bueno. Por supuesto, no se puede comparar este juego con otros diseñados para el entretenimiento lúdico de adultos.
- Ambientolito: juego estilo oca educativo que trata de enseñar sobre la problemática de la contaminación y el desarrollo sostenible. Soberanamente malo e insufrible, incluso para los niños.
- The Political Game: juego de apuestas ciegas ambientado en la política española de finales de los ochenta, principios de los noventa. Sumamente aceptable. Sería incluso bueno si no tuviera una etapa de tirar y mover muy deslucida.
- Maratón Clásico: simplemente el mejor juego de preguntas y respuesta que existe, desligado totalmente de la mecánica de tirar y mover del Trivial, que hace que los jugadores deambulen sin sentido por el tablero.
- Els Xinos del'Oracle: uno de mis juegos preferidos. Apuestas ciegas relacionadas con las alianzas parlamentarias en Cataluña. Se puede descargar gratis en Internet.
- El Lince: juego diseñado para niños sobre asociación de objetos y rapidez de reacción. Valga en parte el comentario hecho para Viaje por Europa para calificarlo también como bueno.
- La meva col·lecció: buen juego de subastas y consecución de colecciones. Si se quiere, una especie de Modern Art con ciertos requerimientos de colocación de las obras. Así, no es simplemente adquir las mejores, sino adquirir las mejores que puedan ser exhibidas en nuestra colección. Distribuido como suplemento en un periódico catalán.
- Cockpit: De la editorial brasileña Grow, posiblemente el peor juego de carreras que haya jugado. Sumamente desbalanceado.
- El joc de l'especulador: juego de distribución gratuita, por parte de una agencia de publicidad catalana. Se trata de una reimplementación del Hombres Lobo ambientada en una parodia (¿o será positivismo puro y duro?) del mercado inmobiliario español. A mi gusto, un juego aceptable, que le caben para sí, para lo bueno y para lo malo, las valoraciones del juego sobre el cual se basa.
- Wings, Proceso, ¡Europa!, Sic Bo, The Last Card, Baccarat, De Vebis, Watten y Fiasco, o no los he probado, o ha pasado mucho tiempo desde que los jugué como para hacer una valoración.
Como ves, más que juegos malos, que haberlos haylos, estos son juegos que básicamente no tienen distribución en EEUU.
Ojo, que muchos juegos son exclusivos porque ni Dios los tiene dados de alta.
Por ejemplo: veo que alguien tiene el Pelotón, y que son dos personas. Yo tambien lo tengo, al igual que su expansión de cyberpunk, pero no es un juego que tenga dado de alta en BGG, al igual que mi juego de dados de poker, la baraja de poker de Sin City o cosas así.
Por lo demás, de acuerdo con Schroinger.
Sí, sospecho que en España hay muuuuucha gente que aún conserva sus NAC y no los tiene dados de alta en BGG, por ejemplo. O juegos de la revista Alea.
No por ser malo ha de tenerlo poca gente necesariamente...

Por cierto, solo un apunte, los juegos que salen, son juegos que gente friqui como nosotros se ha dedicado a meter en la bbg, por lo que ese numero no es el número real de juegos.
Puede que ese numero sea proporcional al numero de juegos reales en la calle (o puede que no)....
Por ejemplo, seguro que hay mucha mas gente con un Monopoly que en sus casas que con un Tigris y Eufrates, pero la gran mayoria de los primeros no se han molestado en darse de alta en la bbg.
Y ya que estamos con herramientas para BGG, ¿alguien sabe cómo ver el número de personas de un país en concreto que tiene un juego determinado?
Sé hacer las dos cosas por separado, pero no encuentro la forma de cruzar ambas condiciones y seguro que es una chominá...

Y ya que estamos con cosas relacionadas con la BGG, a mí me gustaría saber si se puede consultar la trayectoria de un juego en cuanto al ránkin que ha ido ocupando con el paso del tiempo.

Tengo unas cuantas rarezas, por lo que veo... Algunas de esas cosas las metí yo mismo en la BGG como entradas nuevas. Respecto a lo que comentáis, estoy de acuerdo que un juego no tiene por qué ser malo o bueno dependiendo del número de personas que lo tengan.

Por cierto, de esas tres herramientas que os salen al cargar esa web, la que se llama Game Selector la podéis cargar desde un movil con internet, por si os pilla fuera de casa, y funciona de lujo!! Da igual que tengáis iphone, lg, nokia, etc. Mientras podáis navegar por internet, accedeis a esa web y os salen dichas herramientas.
