La editorial estadounidense Mayday Games acaba de dar comienzo a una campaña en la plataforma de financiación Kickstarter para buscar fondos para la publicación de Meteor, un juego de Mike Young que fue publicado originalmente a través de The Game Crafter en 2012 y que para esta ocasión ha sido completamente renovado tanto en el apartado estético como en cuanto a reglas.
Meteor es un juego cooperativo en el que los jugadores han de hacer frente a una lluvia de meteoritos que se dirige a la Tierra. El tiempo estimado para el impacto es de tan solo 5 minutos por lo que tendrán que darse prisa para colaborar y destruirlos antes de que impacten sobre las ciudades de todo el mundo y salvar así el planeta
Los jugadores tienen que trabajar juntos para construir y lanzar cohetes contra los meteoritos antes de que se acerquen demasiado. Meteor se juega en tiempo real de forma que cada jugador dispone de una mano de cartas y de un área de construcción. Se colocan una serie de cartas de meteorito en el centro de la mesa y los jugadores han de construir colaborativamente los cohetes para destruirlos antes de que la cuenta atrás termine, que en términos de juego se controla con unos relojes de arena.
La principal diferencia con respecto a la anterior edición consiste en que el número máximo de jugadores es ahora de cinco (anteriormente era para hasta 6 jugadores). Asimismo en esta nueva versión de han incluido más cartas y nuevas acciones.
